PETRIFIED REDWOOD – Assists in opening up the larger view, seeing the peripheral, seeing distances. Seeing the radiance of everyday life. Breaking up and melting crystallized images of what we fear.

PETRIFIED SYCAMORE – Cultivates feeling calm, allowing fears to settle and dissolve into silence. Quality of cleansing and simplifying. Connected with issues of nurturance and neglect, healing violence at emotional and energetic levels.

PETRIFIED BOG – Assists in melting the feeling of being ‘bogged down”. Bring color and vibrant hues to dark and congealed places. The colors are rays of unconditional love, revealing the alive presence which is beyond gain and loss. Seeing the depth of light found even in dark places.

PETRIFIED HICKORY – Helps in connecting with the magnificence of nature, working with our feelings of separation and aloneness. Being part of Gaia’s family– growing here with the trees and the animals. Also assists in feeling stable, of being rooted.

PETRIFIED ELM – Melts the sense of frozen fear and terror that results in righteous thinking and behavior. Works with feelings of being week, and the resulting attraction towards thoughts of power, control, and judgment to compensate. Works with softening into the wisdom of the heart, allowing the righteous wall of protection to thaw.

PETRIFIED MAPLE – Assists in seeing that our personal, ancestral, and collective pain is not as large as it seems. Our pain, created by confusion, thoughts, and judgments, is a localized activity. When a breath is taken and the whole landscape is taken it, suffering takes on its proper perspective. This space changes everything, and there are new possibilities.

PETRIFIED GIANT SEQUOIA – Works with opening our male energies – the full, life giving, the rich maleness that has been narrowly defined by our culture. Releasing this life giving force from its frozenness. The strength of kindness, the wisdom of care, the commitment of tenderness, the exuberance of creativity, the joy of celebration and dance, the firmness of honesty and truth, the power of humility and silence.
